Overview

The Gallicia Laundry Company faced significant structural fire damage, prompting the decision to demolish the building and initiate a fresh start. Priority was placed on swiftly restoring business operations, but upon consultation, it was evident that certain aspects of the original structure could be optimised to better serve the company’s needs. The business was originally housed across three separate buildings, a setup deemed functional yet not ideal. Additionally, condensation issues in certain areas required attention, prompting the desire to address and resolve these concerns.

Solutions

By leveraging Kingspan’s quad-core insulated panel system, complemented by walk-on double-skinned rooflights and architectural quad-core wall cladding, we delivered a thermally efficient and visually appealing building in record time. The customer now has more working space with no condensation issues and all of their operations under one roof. This project presented unique challenges as the customer sought to maximize space, resulting in restricted machine access along all boundary sides of the building. This necessitated the use of smaller equipment and increased manpower to overcome these constraints. The building was clad in merlin grey roof panels, cauliflower blue wall cladding trimmed in bespoke denim blue flashings. The project was completed within the designated timeframe and budget, marking it as a resounding success.
