Overview

The aging felt roof was nearing the end of its lifespan, presenting both aesthetic concerns and structural issues, including water damage to the building.

Solutions

After removing the old felt, we discovered that the metal deck was not as secure as indicated by the core sample. To address this issue, we undertook the extensive task of re-plying the entire deck with eighteen millimetre ply, ensuring its structural integrity. Subsequently, we implemented a comprehensive three-layer system, comprising a vapour control layer (VCL), insulation, and two layers of felt.

Furthermore, executing this project amidst stringent lockdown regulations posed significant challenges. We diligently adhered to all health and safety protocols related to roofing and COVID-19 regulations, ensuring the safety of our team and compliance with regulatory requirements.
